Abstract

Action research is an important part of the educational process. The introduction of action research by teachers is important for the integration of new knowledge into education. The main goal of the study is to find out the perceptions and attitudes of teachers towards action research, determine the problems they encounter in action research, and suggest possible ways to improve the existing situation. A descriptive quantitative and qualitative method was used. In 2021, a quantitative survey was conducted on the opinions and attitudes of Slovak primary school 2nd grade teachers towards action research in their pedagogical and didactic activities (N = 239) and 87 teachers were interviewed. The results revealed many weaknesses in the introduction of action research that should be eliminated. The article also contains recommendations.
