Different forms of violence can occur in a partner relationship which manifest in the form of psychological, physical, sexual, and economic violence. Often, in case of violence in a partner relationship, psychological violence begins to appear first, which can later develop into other forms of violence. This article presents the results of a research on the occurrence of psychological violence in partner relationships among young people. The research included 376 young people who had the experience of a partner relationship. We have learnt that the most common forms of psychological violence in partner relationships among young people are jealousy, the use of inappropriate and offensive words, and criticism and humiliation. The results analysis showed that women are more often victims of psychological violence. In the analysis based on age, we have discovered that it is young people aged between 22 and 25 who most often experience psychological violence in a partner relationship. As for the duration of the partner relationship, we note that psychological violence most frequently occurs in partner relationships lasting between two and four years.
